[Staff Stories]In this February,
I joined Shenzhen SDMC as an intern. Many friends asked me why I choose to be an
administrative receptionist, my answer was: This job is just a transition,
I will change to another career after I finished my internship. But time flies
before I realized I have worked over 6 months. The internship was over long ago
and my minds is different with when I came to SDMC.
The work of an
administrative
receptionist seems simple, but it needs carefulness
and patience. Carefulness is one my short comes. I can finish my work in the given
time but I am not sure I do it perfectly. As an administrative receptionist in
SDMC helps me to become careful. I doesn’t matter no matter how much tedious
work I should do because I know a good habit can be formed by from them. The
six months’ work in SDMC let me leant about design software, such as Photoshop,
AI, and CorelDraw. I like creation, so every time I design a cue card, I try different
styles.
Checking attendance is
one of my main work. I need to do it once a week and finish a whole month’s attendance in
the beginning of next month and report it to the financial department. It seems
a very simple work. But it is complicated when it operates. I need to take care
of all the work-off days and times by reasons because different reasons causes
different deductions on salary. Over the months work, I have worked out my way
on how to do it quickly. Now I checked twice before I give the final report. I
told myself that it’s OK that mistakes happens in my first edition, but no mistakes
is permitted in the final edition. My goal is to make no mistakes in the following
months.
My career will
not be an administrative receptionist thought I chose as my first job. I was confused
about my life career at first and I kept asking myself “Do I really like this
job” . The answer was yes and no. It gets clear until someone told me to love
what I do now. He told me no on can have a perfect job and you can get a more
suitable job only if you love what you do right now. He told me to find our my shortcoming
s in my work, address them and get more and more working experience.
In order to get
the most suitable job in three years, I need to answer five questions:
First, which
industry do I like?
Second, which
kind of department?
Third, which
position?
Fourth, what are
the duties of the position I choose?
Fifth, what should
I improve?
Thanks to my
first job and thanks Shenzhen SDMC.
