It’s easy to find set-top box suppliers to
supply UHD Hybrid DVB-T2 set-top boxes. You just need to search it in B2B platforms
such as Alibaba and then you will get companies all over the world, though you
may find most of them from China. The problem is, as a TV operator, no matter you
run broadcaster TV, telecommunication TV or internet TV, you want you’re
service only accessible to paid subscribers. This problem prompted SDMC to design
the new UHD Hybrid DVB-T2 set-top box that supports DRM and CAS.
DRM is short for digital rights management.
Currently, the most famous ones are Verimatrix, Playready and Widewine. SDMC’s
new hybrid DVB-T2 STB supports all of them. As to CAS, SDMC’S new UHD Hybrid
DVB-T2 STB supports Novel-Super TV and Conax.
All of the major set-top boxes you know will
have versions that output at 4K. And now all the set-top box suppliers are
blowing their set-top boxes with 4K video streaming ability. SDMC’s designed
the new designed UHD Hybrid DVB-T2 STB supports streaming 4K videos too. And it
uses H.265 decoder, which means the less bandwidth consumption but same perfect
4K videos.
Along with HDMI-out, dual-band 802.11a/b/g/n
Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth support, the new UHD Hybrid DVB-T2 STB also has a Gigabit
Ethernet jack, a pair of USB ports, and a micro SD slot. You’ll probably end up
needing that micro SD slot or USB ports for storage, because the box only has 8GB
onboard.
