4K DVB-T2 Transmission
According to Advanced Television
reported on May 22nd, Spain has become the first country in the world to test
the second generation DVB-T2 under 4K format with 100 frames per second.
A group of researchers in the
University Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, along with the UK’s BBC, is
doing the first tests of DVB-T2, significantly improving the most advanced
formats currently used in commercial TV with 4096 x 2160 pixels (Full HD)
against the current 1920 x 1080 (HD) with a frame rate of 100 per second
instead of the current 50.
The transmission test was
conducted in the university laboratory. Its application will not adapt the same
way as the synchronization network, so that the same broadcast content can be
received by all the present and future equipment, thereby reducing the cost.
